About Our Logo
The Cross represents Christ and our service to Him in the world. The Circle stands for our hope for wholeness in our lives. The out flowing lines from the center depict the many works of the Episcopal Church Women, going out into the world. The intertwined lines represent our lives centered in Christ.

Who are we as Episcopal Church Women in Diocese of Western North Carolina?

Every woman in the Episcopal Church is a member of the ECW by virtue of church membership. We are women of all ages, ethnic origins, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Purpose of the Epsicopal Church Women in Western North Carolina -

The purpose of this organization shall be to unite the women of the Diocese in a program of worship, study, service, and fellowship which will deepen and strengthen their own spiritual lies and lead them into service for the Church in the parish, community, diocese, nation and world.

We now have our own ECW Diocesan Banner thanks to Francile Shelley. How banner came to be - "At the meeting at the Thompson place, with all their gorgeous banners, I asked if WE had one. Since we did not, and I had had a LITTLE experience before at our church in Cola., I determined to make one. (Always being one to rush in....etc) It presented a little more of a challenge than I anticipated, but thanks to computers that can enlarge things, I got an image, in parts, that I could piece together for the emblem on the front. The materials were remnants on sale that I fell in love with, and thought were very appropriate for a working organization...the rough heavy woven beige. The identification on the back uses unciel letters again enlarged till I got the size I wanted....then transferred to cardbord and cut out, to make forms to trace around on the felt...and then cut out for use on the back.

I hope the banner can be used for general meetings, conference, etc....it will need a strong person to carry it!....." Francile Shelley.
